The Scientific Method

Testing and experimenting are the two main components of the scientific method, which aims to establish facts impartially. In their efforts to develop an accurate, trustworthy, consistent, and non-arbitrary description of the world, scientists depend on the technique (Gower, 2012). In its purest form, scientific research is the process of conducting an organized investigation to disprove a theory or provide a solution to a particular topic. The most crucial objective of any experimental method is to locate an answer that can provide conclusive evidence. Such results can be obtained with that reliance on a technique such as the scientific method. Thus, any researcher needs to have a solid comprehension of the scientific method’s fundamental concepts, which comprise essential principles such as making observations, forming hypotheses, and validating predictions.

My dissertation will center on the issue of domestic violence as its primary focus. During the process of creating the dissertation, I will be expected to collect and present data that is both factual and persuasive. As a result, I will have to adhere to the several principles that underlie the scientific method. The first step in the procedure is to make an observation on domestic violence, and then you go on to the next step, which is to gather background information on the issue. The other step is to create a hypothesis that will direct the research. It is possible for it to become a fact once the idea is proven. A further significant stage that I will carry out is to make a forecast and then carry out an experiment. The analysis of the collected findings will be another crucial step of the scientific technique that I will execute. The last step is sharing the conclusion.

biostat Week 15

Do a little bit of research on your own regarding the scientific method. Notice how the idea of this “method” falls in line with how researchers build their research and subsequently publish their reports.
Briefly present the idea or purpose of your own research for your dissertation and outline the process mirroring the scientific method.
Discuss this with your classmates.

Assignment

FINAL WRITING ASSIGNMENT

ETHICAL ARGUMENT

1. Identify and analyze thesis statements in nonfiction texts as models for their original work.

2. Present clear, reasoned, well-supported, and clearly-organized thesis-driven argument essays.

3. Compose, edit, and revise essays at the sentence, paragraph and essay level to demonstrate the conventions of standard academic American English.

4. Analyze the rhetorical situation, including the importance of purpose and audience and the use of rhetorical appeals and rhetorical strategies, in popular and/or scholarly texts.

5. Find and integrate college-level sources to support a strong argument.

6. Synthesize, paraphrase, and quote from primary and secondary sources while adhering to most recent MLA documentation guidelines.

Write a 6-8 page ethical argument that takes a position on an ethical topic. Some possible research questions are: How far should schools go to keep kids safe? How strict should gun laws be? Are vaccination mandates just? Should school age kids be allowed on social media?

YOUR PAPER SHOULD BE WRITTEN IN THIRD PERSON POINT OF VIEW AND SHOULD NOT INCLUDE PRONOUNS “I,” “We,” or “You.” IT NEEDS TO INCORPORATE AN ETHICAL PRINCIPLE IN WHICH YOU GIVE THE BACKGROUND AND SER THE CONTEXT FOR YOUR ETHICAL TPIC. Be sure to use at least 6 outside sources, 3 of which are peer reviewed, and the other 3 need to come from a variety of sources such as websites, interviews, or documentaries.

Paper should include parenthetical citations with the author’s last name and page numbers. Also, you should have a works cited page that incorporates all of the sources you have used.

It is important that your paper is organized logically and utilizes transitional words and phrases to connect your sentences and paragraphs.

Paper

or this assignment, you will synthesize the independent evidence-based practice project proposal assignments from NUR-550 and NUR-590 into a 2000-5,000-word professional paper.

Final Paper

The final paper should:

Incorporate all necessary revisions and corrections suggested by your instructors.
Synthesize the different elements of the overall project into one paper. The synthesis should reflect the main concepts for each section, connect ideas or overreaching concepts, and be rewritten to include the critical aspects (do not copy and paste the assignments).
Contain supporting research for the evidence-based practice project proposal.
Main Body of the Paper

The main body of your paper should include the following sections:

Problem Statement
Organizational Culture and Readiness
Literature Review
Change Model, or Framework
Implementation Plan
Evaluation Plan
Appendices

The appendices at the end of your paper should include the following:

All final changes or revisions for the drafts that will be included in the appendices of your paper.
Complete the “APA Writing Checklist” to ensure that your paper adheres to APA style and formatting criteria and general guidelines for academic writing. Include the completed checklist as the final appendix at the end of your paper. In each preceding course you have been directed to the Student Success Center for assistance with APA style, and have submitted the APA Writing Checklist to help illustrate your adherence to APA style. This final paper should demonstrate a clear ability to communicate your project in a professional and accurately formatted paper using APA style.
General Requirements

You are required to cite 10-12 peer-reviewed sources to complete this assignment. Sources must be published within the last 5 years and appropriate for the assignment criteria and nursing content.

Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center.

This assignment uses a rubric. Please review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion.

You are required to submit this assignment to LopesWrite. A link to the LopesWrite technical support articles is located in Class Resources if you need assistance.

Benchmark Information

This benchmark assignment assesses the following programmatic competencies:

MBA-MSN; MSN-Nursing Education; MSN Acute Care Nurse Practitioner-Adult-Gerontology; MSN Family Nurse Practitioner; MSN-Health Informatics; MSN-Health Care Quality and Patient Safety; MSN-Leadership in Health Care Systems; MSN-Public Health Nursing

1.1: Translate research and knowledge gained from practice, while adhering to ethical research standards, to improve patient outcomes and clinical practice.

Discussion

The evidence-based practice (EBP) process is a powerful way of advancing improvements in health care. Identify three strategies that you will now incorporate into your practice based on this course. Explain your rationale.

Biostatistics response to Michael

Chi-squared test is a statistic that measures how a model compares to observed data. This utilized data must be random and mutually exclusive from independent variables and drawn from a properly sized sample (Shih & Fay, 2017), The chi-squared test are less powerful than distribution function tests and special purpose-fit tests (D’Agostino, 2017). However, the chi-squared test can be very useful as it tests for correlation and independence between variables (Shen et al., 2022). Furthermore, an example of a research question that would call for a chi-squared test would be as such . Do people decide to seek medical attention related to them having a college level education ? Ho:Proportion of people who seek medical attention is independent to having a college level education .Ha: Proportion of people who seek medical attention is different based on having a college level education .When considering people seeking medical attention and college level education one would use the chi-squared test to test for independence. To do so a researcher would collect data on two chosen variables ( seeking medical attention and education level) and compare the frequencies at which people with a college level education versus those that do not with a chi-squared test. Thus we could test for independence and correlation between the two mentioned variables.

Discussion

For professional writing in nursing and health care, APA style is expected. It is also expected for the remainder of your graduate program and in doctoral programs for nursing. Discuss what you have learned, or how you have improved, by completing the “APA Writing Checklist” and from receiving feedback from your instructors. What aspects of APA do you still struggle with? In your response to peers, provide a resource from the Student Success Center (or in addition to something in the Student Success Center) or a suggestion for an area in which someone still struggles.
