Introduction/ Problem and Purpose: Clearly define the problem to be researched, and the author’s authors/researcher’s purpose or objective(s) for the article or research; what he/she is attempting to accomplish; and what specific research questions are being addressed. Hypothesis (es), if stated, should be paraphrased.
Method: State clearly the methodological procedures used by the researcher(s) to collect data indicating participants, i.e., the gender, age, and number of persons studied, procedure and instruments employed to gather and analyze information.
Findings/Results: Succinctly state what the researcher(s) discovered revealed, uncovered or found as a result of their investigation. This information is usually found under the article’s subheading of finds and results.
Discussion: Review the investigator’s intent/purpose of the study and provide an overview of how the central or major elements, variables or hypotheses were reached or handled. This section responds to the “so what?” in reference to the findings/results.
Implications for Counseling or Education: Your implications should address how the results/findings of the study could impact the counseling or education field.
Recommendations: The recommendations simply state what is being suggested for further or future study and the result of the study’s limitations, focus, research variables, limitations understudied and the like, to enhance or provide additional knowledge and insight.
