In this tutorial, we will learn how to use Adobe Photoshop Elements to edit images. If you are a web developer, you can also use this skill to add custom icons to websites, ecommerce web projects or landing pages. Let’s get started.
What is Adobe Photoshop Elements?
Adobe Photoshop Elements is an image editing software that runs on most Windows computers. It is not a web-based editor and you cannot export images. It was designed specifically for use by hobbyists, web-based graphic designers and even casual photographers.
Adobe Photoshop Elements 15 is intended for users with intermediate and advanced Photoshop experience. It is a complete graphics editor with many tools to help you create and edit images. You can use it to create or convert graphic logos, create a collage of pictures, edit photos, add text or create full artwork. It has everything you will need to enhance and style photos.
Adobe Photoshop Elements is not meant to replace the traditional Photoshop but to help you manage and edit images. And the best part? It is free.
Getting started with Adobe Photoshop Elements
The first time you run Photoshop Elements, it will create a user account for you. This is a security measure and will prevent you from editing other people’s images. So you will need to enter your account information to create a new account.
Next, you will be asked to create a new image. Before you can start editing your image, you will need to choose the correct format to save your image. Go to File > Open and choose the right file format. All of the other settings will then be automatically filled in for you.
The Basic Toolbar
You will find the Photoshop Elements interface very familiar. Your tools will be listed on the left side of your screen. You can use the menu by clicking on the image on the toolbar to access the basic tools.
Basic File Format Options
The basic settings are shown in the following screenshots. It is the default setting.
You can also access the basic settings by clicking on the tiny arrow above the file format menu.
Basic Image Menu
This is the basic image menu and contains the most common options. You can access this by clicking the square image on the toolbar.

Garth Brooks & Tom T. Hall to Reunite and Perform Together in Nashville
Two country music legends have been collaborating, harmonizing and performing together for nearly 40 years. Garth Brooks and Tom T. Hall are reuniting for a special performance in Nashville, Tennessee, on Sept. 20.
Brooks recently expressed his excitement for the upcoming set-up, telling fans, “I’ve been playing with an old buddy for a long time. I’m so pumped that we finally get to share these tunes with you. I can’t wait to get on the stage with old Tom once again.”
Hall and Brooks have been closely linked since their 1981 debut single, “Big Iron, Little Rusty.” The song hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Two decades later, the pair performed at the Grand Ole Opry together in 2014, marking their first performance as a duo.
Brooks and Hall, plus Country Music Hall of Famer Vern Gosdin, kicked off the tradition, dubbed the “Last Train To Nashville,” to celebrate the annual visit of the Country Music Association’s Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum to the city.
This year, the event is being held Aug. 19-21 at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.
Brooks, who earned two induction statuses at the CMAs, is up for induction this year for being a three-time Entertainer of the Year and eight-time Male Vocalist of the Year. Hall is up for induction in the Recorded Event or Performance category.
Steeped in history and tradition, the Hall of Fame and Museum is Tennessee’s country music heritage and history in all its forms, from the earliest fiddle and banjo melodies to the evolution of musical instruments to the founding of the Grand Ole Opry.
The museum houses nearly 4,000 artefacts including instruments, books, photos, and memorabilia spanning almost 100 years, and it hosts educational programs, multi-media presentations, special tours and concerts, festivals and fairs.’use strict’;

Performance validation of medium-resolution Q*BASE MRF SPECT and MPET brain phantom data.
The purpose of this work was to validate medium-resolution quantitative brain single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) and positron emission tomography (PET) brain phantoms, which were developed with and without T1-induced signal model, using reference tissue methods and automated methods on iodine. The brain phantom phantoms were used to evaluate spatial resolution, sensitivity, quantitative accuracy, and relative noise in the presence of hot and cold lesions, structures, and tracers. The validation was accomplished by using both manual and automated count-in-ROI methods, with automatic method results validated by comparison with results for corresponding regions in a CT image. All tests were performed for medium-resolution brain SPECT and PET phantoms at 3 time points using both a T1-uncorrected and a corrected spatial signal model. The validated data were used to determine the contribution of both the corrected and uncorrected signal model to the apparent recovery coefficients and, by use of the phantom-derived recovery coefficient standard deviation (RCSD), the contributions of both the recovery coefficients and the associated variation to the overall coefficient of variation (COV). For all tests, the COV was found to be similar for recovered signal and corrected images, whereas it was significantly lower for uncorrected images. The uncorrected images were also found to be characterized by significantly greater coefficient of quadratic variation (CV(2)), indicating greater residual variation. The recovery coefficients and RCSD from the reference method were found to be accurate, and the spatial resolution of the medium-resolution brain phantoms was shown to be stable for the tracer and recovery coefficient used. The results in this work show the validity of the medium-resolution (0.9-mm full-width at half-maximum) Q*BASE phantoms for quantitative assessment of iodine brain SPECT and PET data with and without correction for the T1-induced signal.Q:
