Health Pattern 7: Self-Perception-Self-Concept

The self-perception-self-concept pattern refers to the family’s perception of themselves and their overall self-worth. The following open-ended questions were asked to assess this pattern:

1. How would you describe each family member’s self-perception and self-concept?
2. Are there any factors that influence the self-worth of individual family members?
3. Does your family take any measures to promote positive self-perception and self-concept?

Based on the family’s responses, they described each family member as having positive self-perception and self-concept. They emphasized the importance of acceptance, support, and encouragement within the family unit. Personal achievements and recognition were identified as factors influencing self-worth. To promote positive self-perception and self-concept, the family encourages open and honest communication, celebrates achievements, and provides emotional support.

Conclusion:

Through the use of open-ended, family-focused questions, we gathered and analyzed data related to the functional health patterns of the selected family. Based on the findings, two wellness problems were identified: the challenges faced in managing the family’s health due to busy schedules and financial constraints, and the barriers encountered in maintaining regular physical activity due to time constraints and conflicting schedules. This family health assessment provides valuable insights into the family’s current health status and lays the foundation for developing appropriate interventions to address the identified wellness problems.
