In my personal work experience, I encountered a situation with a toxic leader who exhibited traits that negatively affected the work environment. This toxic leader displayed various characteristics that can be described as toxic, such as poor communication, micromanagement, and lack of empathy. This essay will discuss the specific traits that qualify this leader as toxic and explore how the situation could have been different if the individual had applied the concepts of conscious leadership. Characteristics of a Toxic Leader
One of the key traits exhibited by the toxic leader was poor communication skills. This leader rarely provided clear instructions or provided inadequate information, leaving team members confused and unsure of what was expected of them. Additionally, this leader displayed a habit of micromanagement, constantly monitoring and controlling every aspect of the team’s work.
