The Institute of Medicine (IOM) has set forth several recommendations for the future of nursing in order to improve healthcare outcomes and transform the nursing profession. As a highly educated individual within the nursing field, I see myself fitting into the following IOM recommendations in the job market based on my educational level.
One of the key recommendations from the IOM report is to increase the proportion of nurses with a bachelor’s degree to 80% by the year 2020. Currently, I hold a bachelor’s degree in nursing, which puts me in a favorable position in the job market. By obtaining a bachelor’s degree, I have acquired a comprehensive understanding of nursing theories, research, leadership, and critical thinking skills. This level of education allows me to take on more advanced roles and responsibilities within the healthcare system.
With my educational background, I am eligible to pursue a variety of job opportunities. For instance, I can work as a nurse administrator or manager in a healthcare organization.
