To align the way nurses serve others with the servant-leadership paradigm, several key principles can be integrated. The servant-leadership paradigm, as explained by Greenleaf (1970), emphasizes the leader’s dedication to serving others and their development. This can be applied in nursing by prioritizing patient-centered care, actively listening to patients’ concerns, involving patients in their care decisions, and empowering them to become active participants in their health journey (Irving, 2018). By adopting servant-leadership values, nurses can enhance their commitment to serving others in a holistic and compassionate manner.

The issue of serving in the nursing profession differs from the secular view of power in several ways.
