Assignment 1: Evaluation of Information Systems (27 points)
Review the stages of the systems development life cycle (SDLC) in course readings and presentations. Utilize readings from the textbook, modules, and a search for information sources to formulate your responses.

This assignment is one formal paper that contains two parts.

Part 1
These questions require answers made after an electronic health record (EHR) or new EHR application/feature has already been selected and implemented by an organization. For example, an organization may have just implemented a new EHR, or the organization has replaced an existing EHR, or the organization has added new functionality such as clinical decision support system features or a patient portal. Consider which additional or new HIT application/feature is of interest for your DNP practice and will result in improved care.
Part 2
Students will analyze one unintended consequence (e-iatrogenesis) of the proposed EHR or EHR application/feature from Part 1. The unintended consequence may be one that is either “good” or “bad.” Students will create a visual fishbone diagram that shows the cause(s) and effect(s) of the problem with the EHR/EHR application/feature. Review the readings and the content found in the modules re: fishbone diagrams and e-iatrogenesis.

Assignment Criteria:
Develop a scholarly paper that addresses the following:
Complete Part 1: System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Implementation and Evaluation Stages: Proposed EHR/EHR Application/Feature
1. Briefly define the implementation and evaluation stages of the SDLC and describe the specific and expected role activities of the DNP as an interprofessional team member during these two stages. Cite one or more sources.
2. Describe the new EHR or one new EHR feature, function, or application of interest that may benefit or supplement the current EHR for a healthcare organization.
a. Students should search the Internet for specific names and information about existing commercial products for the selected system application or EHR application/feature or function.
b. Students are not designing the application/feature or function for an EHR but selecting an existing, new, or additional product.
3. Briefly describe the name, purpose, and vendor for the proposed new EHR application/feature or function proposed be added to an existing EHR or an electronic clinical information system.
4. Identify the type of healthcare organization (e.g., hospital, clinic, or public health agency, health care software company, government health information website, private virtual health information site, etc.) that will utilize the proposed system. Explain how the EHR/EHR application/feature is utilized for clinical, administrative, educational, or research purposes.
5. Explain how this proposed EHR or EHR application/feature meets two of the Healthy People 2030 objectives for the topic, Health IT (See Modules/Week 2). Cite one or more sources to support response.
6. Define” system interoperability” and “medical device integration” and explain how the proposed EHR or EHR application/ feature meets these HITECH standards. Cite sources.
7. Search the NQF database or other sources and identify and explain one quality metric that can be used to evaluate end-user or stakeholder satisfaction with the system post implementation.
8. Discuss the evidence needed to determine whether further training for system users is needed post-implementation. Cite sources.
9. Identify the name, characteristics, and type of one additional metric you will propose to assess the effectiveness, quality, or safety of the proposed EHR or EHR application/feature. Cite sources.

Complete Part 2: Assessing E-iatrogenesis or the Unintended Consequences of the EHR/EHR application/feature.
10. Analyze the system in Part 1 for one possible unintended consequence that has or may occur post implementing the proposed system/feature. Cite sources.
11. Describe the unintended consequence and cite sources.
12. Generate a fishbone diagram to show the specific causes and effects of the problem (see Modules/Week 2).
a. Create this as Figure 1 and insert into an appendix.
i. See the APA 7th edition manual for format.
13. Provide one or more priority solutions that could be implemented (proposed Remediation Plan) by the interprofessional team to alleviate the causes and effects of the problem. Cite sources.
14. The scholarly paper should be in narrative format, 5 to 6 pages excluding the appendix, title page, and reference page.
15. Include an introductory paragraph with the purpose of the paper and a conclusion to the paper.
16. Include level 1 and 2 headings to organize the content of the paper.
17. Write the paper in third person, not first person (meaning do not use ‘we’ or ‘I’) and in a scholarly manner. To clarify: I, we, you, me, or our may not be used. In addition, describing yourself as the researcher or the author should not be used.
18. Include a minimum of five professional, peer-reviewed scholarly journal references to support the paper (review in Ulrich Periodical Directory). References should be less than five (5) years old unless the reference is a classic or historical article.
19. APA7th edition format required (attention to spelling/grammar, format for a title page and a reference page, use of paraphrasing/quotes, and format for in-text citations).

Discussion board

The Competing Values Framework (CVF) is a popular model used for identifying which style of organizational leadership is most effective. This model heavily emphasizes when transactional leadership or transformational leadership is appropriate, and applies it against four dimensions – collaborate (clan), control (hierarchy), create, (adhocracy) and compete (market). Collaboration calls to do things as a group, and to do things together. Control calls for following the leader in order to do things right. Create advocates for doing things first, then assessing after. Lastly, compete aims to please the market, do things fast and focus on efficiency / costs effectiveness (Weber et al., 2022). A transactional leader is marked by processes involving acknowledgment, remuneration, or penalties, corrective measures initiated by the transactional leader are based on employee performance in executing assigned tasks. Team members typically operate autonomously, and there is a lack of collaboration among employees who display a short-term commitment to the organization. Transactional leadership falls short in cultivating trust between the leader and followers; it does not necessitate the leader to tread an ethical or moral path and relies on externally motivating the employee to engage in their duties for personal gain. The primary objective of this form of leadership is to reach a consensus on a series of actions that fulfill the distinct and immediate objectives of both the leader and the followers. Transactional leadership is characterized by attributes such as rigidity, self-centeredness, and exerting control over subordinates. This type of leader follows toward the control and compete dimensions (Alharbi, 2018; Specchia et al., 2021). On the contrary, a transformational leader has a significantly more positive impact. Distinguished by charismatic impact, skillful communication, appreciation of relationships, and personalized attention, this leadership style embodies the ability to instill loyalty by fostering shared objectives. This synergy leads to heightened productivity, enhanced morale, and greater job satisfaction among employees. Transformational leaders harness idealized influence, inspiration, motivation, intellectual stimulation, and personalized attention to attain exceptional outcomes. They motivate individuals to surpass their initial intentions, frequently achieving more than they believed feasible. These leaders aspire to motivate their followers to transcend self-interest and surpass expectations, thereby advancing the interests of the team and the organization. This style follows the collaborate and create dimensions of the CVF (Alharbi, 2018; Specchia et al., 2021).

No Plagiarism minimum of 450 words Internet-related crime occurs every minute. Cybercriminals steal millions of dollars with near impunity. For everyone that is captured nearly 10,000 or not captured. For every one successful prosecuted in a court of law, 100 get off without punishment or with a warning. Why is it so difficult to prosecute cybercriminals? Please make your initial post and two response posts substantive. Title: Challenges in Prosecuting Cybercriminals: A Complex Legal Landscape

Introduction:
The digital age has ushered in a new era of crime, with cybercriminals exploiting the vulnerabilities of the internet to commit various offenses. However, prosecuting these individuals presents a daunting challenge for law enforcement agencies across the globe. This discussion aims to shed light on the reasons behind the difficulty in prosecuting cybercriminals.

I. Evolving Jurisdictional Issues:
One major obstacle in prosecuting cybercriminals is the jurisdictional complexity that arises due to the borderless nature of the internet. Cybercrimes can be perpetrated from one country, while the victims and evidence reside in other countries. This raises questions regarding the application of legal frameworks, enforcement capabilities, and mutual legal assistance between nations. The lack of international cooperation and harmonization of cybercrime laws hinders effective prosecution.

An illustrative example of jurisdictional challenges is seen in cases where cybercriminals operate from countries with inadequate cybercrime legislation or with lenient extradition policies. This creates safe havens where criminals can carry out their activities relatively unimpeded. As a result, the inability to extradite suspects or retrieve evidence from such regions significantly hampers prosecution efforts.

II. Technical Complexity:
Cybercrimes often involve sophisticated techniques that are challenging to investigate and prosecute. This can include the use of encryption protocols, anonymizing services, and hacking methods, which enable cybercriminals to conceal their identities and locations. Furthermore, the global nature of cybercriminal networks makes it difficult to trace and attribute crimes to specific individuals or groups.

A lack of specialized technical expertise within law enforcement agencies further exacerbates the challenge. As law enforcement struggles to keep pace with rapidly evolving technologies, there is a growing need for investigators and prosecutors with advanced knowledge of digital forensics, network analysis, and cybersecurity. Without adequate training and resources, the identification, retrieval, and preservation of digital evidence becomes a formidable task.

III. Impediments of Transnational Cooperation:
Efficient transnational cooperation is vital in combating cybercrime. However, varying domestic legal systems, cultural differences, and geopolitical factors often impede effective collaboration between countries. Mutual legal assistance requests may encounter delays or rejections due to differences in legal standards, privacy concerns, or political considerations.

For instance, conflicts arising from differing approaches to the balance between cybersecurity and privacy can hinder information sharing and impede prosecution efforts. Additionally, the lack of a standardized framework for data sharing and cross-border cooperation poses significant hurdles in cybercrime investigations.

IV. Advancements in Cryptocurrency:
The rising prevalence of cryptocurrencies, such as Bitcoin, has allowed cybercriminals to exploit the anonymity they provide for financial transactions. This decentralized and often unregulated digital currency complicates prosecution efforts, as traditional methods of seizing assets become more challenging to enforce. The use of cryptocurrencies facilitates money laundering and financial anonymity, creating yet another obstacle for investigators and prosecutors.

Overall, the difficulty in prosecuting cybercriminals arises due to the complex nature of jurisdictional issues, technical challenges, limited transnational cooperation, and the impact of advancements in cryptocurrency. Addressing these obstacles requires international collaboration, the development of specialized expertise within law enforcement agencies, and the establishment of clear legal frameworks that can adapt to the rapidly evolving digital landscape.
